Author Bio- Well, my name is Shannon. I live with my wonderful husband Vaughn and I read. Like a
lot. From May 2015- January 2016 I've ready over 250 books. I decided I'd give this
writing thing a try. I've always loved to write short stories but the challenge of a book
seemed a bit daunting to me. Be gentle with me. I try my best, but please give me any
criticism you can. I would love to make this a full time thing! Love you all and thanks for
reading!

I received an ARC of Just a Man in exchange for my honest review.

In this story we are introduced to Charlotte or Charlie as her friends call her. She is getting ready to interview to be the personal assistant of CEO Alex Porter, owner of Porter Industries, a huge Tech Company in LA. While some would consider Charlie to be over qualified for a PA job, she still knows a few months working for Alex will help her get a job almost anywhere.
During her interview she is shocked by how amazingly beautiful Alex is and cant understand the emotions flashing across his face. Her interview is short and he's very curt with her. When she gets up to leave, assuming she's completely boomed her interview, he yells "See you Monday at 8am."
Completely shocked she got the job, and trying to understand the underline emotions going on she heads home to her guy roommate Danny.
This story takes some interesting turns. It is one of those stories where it's so similar to another really popular book & movies about BDSM with shades of grey. Personally I'm getting a little board with these stories. This one had a drunk scene with drunk texting. Alex is extremely hot and cold with his feelings for Charlie. He also has cameras everywhere and loves watching her. He wants he and then pushes her away. He says he no good for her, but they can't deny the electricity between them.
It's one of those stories. While the author makes the chemistry believable, its a story we have read before, or one very similar. I wish we could have a story that was the same idea but different! With all that being said, its still a really well written story that I loved, and devoured in no time flat. I enjoyed the drama and suspense built into the story. I think the main reason I really liked it is because both characters have pasts that they are trying to recover from, and the chemistry between them is easy to feel while reading.
 Definitely a 4 star read!
