Underneath it all by Kate Canterbary

Underneath it All by Kate Canterbary is the first book in The Walshes Series. First off I love that this series is about a group of Irish Boston Architects. The Walsh Family is as screwed up as all of ours, but the love that they have for one another and their business is awesome.

In this first book we meet Lauren who is a no nonsense take charge women who is attempting to open her own school. After several years teaching she won a chance to be apart of this amazing fellowship that will ultimately help her open the doors to her own school, her ultimate dream. There are tons of bumps along the road but the biggest bump is actually finding a building that she can convert into a school. She gets Matthew Walsh, architect extraordinary to agree to meet her and look at a property. Matt falls fast for Lauren after his first meeting with her, mean while Lauren is falling but doing her best to stay on her path towards her goals with little distraction. She is a strong independent women, who is a bit of uncoordinated but also is used to running around with her father, brothers and other military men. So she can definitely hold her own. She is such a likeable character being both strong and clumsy and vulnerable. I was surprised by the twists and turns this novel took. The character development was great. And I fell in love with the whole Walsh family.
