I received an ARC of Keeping London Book 2 of the Flawed Heart Series in exchange for my honest review.
In book one we meet London and Loic, who do everything to not fall for each other, and still end up with each other. They are unlikely in love characters who I personally fell for. I was routing for these two. In this second book they have a new challenge to face. After struggling with their own flaws they start dating and fall in love hard and fast only for it to become time for Loic and his Army Ranger to deploy to Afghanistan. Before he ships out these two try to spend so much time together. They have to deal with a ghost from Loic's past who shows up. They try to believe that one year apart will not be so bad, but within hours of Loic's deployment London is crumbling and admitting via email how much it all sucks. The book continues with these two dealing with life struggles that so many boyfriend/girlfriend and husband/wives have to deal with when they are military personal. It really made me stop and truly appreciate our military and their significant others who have to deal with deployment.
These characters are so real, and yet so flawed. You can't help but route for these two to be able to handle whatever life throws at them and still manage to come out the other side stronger and more in love then before. But of course their flaws will make this a interesting read, and a struggle for our characters. This was a very emotional read for me, as my own brother is a USMC and has deployed before. Many of my own emotions clouded this story for me. The ending was brutal for me. And I pray that in the third book Loic and London can truly find the love they want and need.
