From the moment I first saw my stalker, I was captivated. The man with the black leather jacket and dark, spiky hair sits on a bench across the street from my house, staring down at a notebook. When I turn around to grab some shampoo, she’s still standing in the living room, blatantly staring at my naked body while blinking rapidly, her lips parting ever so slowly. A smirk grows on my face. “Seen a ghost or something?” Her face glows red, and she stutters, “I can’t believe you just took off your clothes while I’m still here.” She swallows, visibly confused. “Do you want me to go? I can go.” I shrug. I don’t see the problem. “You can stay.” I give her a smile, and she tentatively smiles back, trying to hide the obvious stare. I guess my cock stole the show. “Okay,” she murmurs as I turn around and turn on the shower, wondering if she’s staring at my ass. She probably is, judging from the squeaks in her voice. “I’ll go sit down over here…” I don’t answer, as it wasn’t a question, and I don’t see the point in discussing something completely irrelevant. I’m a man of actions, not of words, and I prefer the written word regardless. I could write whole essays about how her beauty captivates me and about all the things I would do to her to make her mine. But she already knows that. She’s seen my notes. REVIEW: OMG! I read the first book and it was a psychological thriller romance novel that was so twisted. I loved it and had to read the second book. The book was about Hyundai and she has a very twisted story. This book was twisted, there's not another word for it. It completely screws with you, but it's so gripping at the same time. I'm almost at a lose for words. Plus I can't say too much without giving away this amazing story. 5 Stars!

Review I have loved Kennedy Fox previous Checkmate books, and this one is no different. This book (like the others) is funny, romantic and just a good read! It's one of those reads where you want to read it all in one sitting, and not put it down for anything. If you've read the other books in the series (Which I strongly encourage, but isn't necessary to read this one) this is Drew's book. Drew is a cop who has had a shitty time with love. His long time on again off again girlfriend is crazy. Like psycho crazy. Courtney has been Drew's little sisters best friend for years. Fast forward and now these two are roommates. Unfortunately Drew is to caught up in his crazy ex to even notice that Courtney has been crushing on him hard for years. This is an interesting take on the idea of girl loves boy, boy is oblivious. I love the dynamics between these two characters and the pages get pretty steamy along the way! This book is intended for 18+ because of the hotness! And be warned, this book does seem to give us a HEA for Courtney and Drew, but introduces us to the next couple in the series, and leaves us hanging for more! Definitely a 5 star book! “Are you always so fidgety and sassy?” He steps toward me, leaning so close that I smell his sweet breath and exquisite cologne. “You’ve been blushing since you got here. And your wandering-all-over-me, black eyes say one thing.” He pauses, staring at my lips for an uncomfortable length of time. Pressing a hand to my lower back, he asks, “Would you like me to tell you what it is?”

I grimace and squirm. My acting skills need a brush-up. He is pure fucking fire.

“Who the hell do you think you are?” I ask.

“The man you want in your bed all night long.” His voice dips low, to an almost dangerous tone.

“You are—”

He places two fingers on my lips, shushing me. His dimples sink, shocking my heart and tangling my lady parts up. He cups his jaw with one hand and I back away, stumbling. He tips his head and a roar of sinister laughter storms out. A wave of heat rushes through me, my cheeks burning. I should run.

Into his arms.

No—away.

“You are the cockiest, filthiest man I’ve ever met.” And, oh my god, I want you.

He steps toward me, and why my feet betray me by staying put when I will them to move confuses me as much as the way my heart is cartwheeling.

I swallow over a dry patch when he saunters behind me, pressing against me with an obvious erection. I take an unsteady gulp of air when he moves my hair aside, his hot breath causing my skin to prickle.

ABOUT MY WRITING

I live with my characters day and night. Most of the time I feel like a voyeur in their lives, which magically seem to unfold right in front of me. They’re in my dreams and on my brain non-stop. I’ll spend weeks editing and revising one book with the next plot swimming through my head and being scribbled onto endless reams of paper. When I write I feel everything - and I do mean EVERYTHING - about them. I’m turned on by them. I laugh at and with them. I get pissed at them. I bitch at them. I cry if something awful is happening to them. My heart speeds up when they fight. I get goose bumps because of them.

I’ll admit it sometimes feels a little like I’m playing God when I write (either that or a puppeteer). I love writing about strong characters that have flaws and imperfections to deal with, work on or resolve. I adore twists, turns and funky plot oddities that make life the crazy thing that it really is. I love putting my characters in awkward situations that allow for interesting, heated and often sexy dialogue to play out.

REVIEW: I have been a fan of A. Wilding Wells for almost a year now. I am honored to be able to receive an arc in exchange form y honest review. A. Wilding Wells books are a little quirky, just like the author herself, they can be so far out of left field, but in such a way that your thankful for something new and exciting to read. This story is no different. This story at first had me a little confused. During the reading of the prologue I got confused with all the characters, especially because the names at not typical. For instance the 15 yr old daughter's name is Bubble. Then their is a character named King, and Queen, but Queen is a elephant! This book is an amazing story, with unconventional characters that you fall in love with! Every page of this story caused me to imaging a castle with a elephant walking around. I can picture this novel being turned into an amazing movie. This story was a great read, which is typical of all of A.Wilding Wells novels. I can't wait to read what she creates next! 5 Stars!
