Book Review~ The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas

I received a copy of The Protector in exchange for my honest review.

I have loved Jodi Ellen Malpas's other book series and have thoroughly enjoyed them, so jumped at the chance to read her first full length novel.
The Protector revolves around Camille Logan and Jake Sharp. Camille, is a fashion model who has had a rough past few years. She has a terrible ex who got her into drugs, and has finally com back from all of it. Her career is going well, and along with her BFF she is attempting to gain investors in a new venture being a clothing designer for all body types.  Cami's dad is a rich (think super rich) and is very controlling of Cami and her life. He has called Cami to his office because he's received a treat that is not just against him, but against her.
Enter Jake Sharp. He is ex military and now works for an agency protecting others as a personal bodyguard. But he doesn't just use his body. He and others in the agency work meticulously to learn what threats are out their against their clients.  When he learns he will be protecting Camille he does his research. At first he wants to turn the job down, but decided that he'll take it. She's just spoiled rich girl who models and probably has no real threat.
Unfortunately the threat is very real. While Jake is attempting to deal with his past, he starts to feel calm being around Cami. And while Cami doesn't like being followed 24/7 she starts to love being protected by Jake.
This is a very sweet story, with very real characters. The plot development is done so well that the reader is drawn in and wants to know more. I truly enjoyed reading this story and was so glad after the hurtles that Jake and Cami got their HEA.
This is a full length novel, with a complete story with a HEA and no cliffhangers.
4.5 Stars!!
