Book Reveiw and Review Tor for POWER by Kenya Wright

Title: Power
Author: Kenya Wright
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release: July 15, 2016

Blurb:

Mary Jane, a struggling comedienne, stumbled into the wrong club at the wrong time. She didn't notice the gangster gripping the gun and the two scary men on his sides. She just jumped on the stage, tested the microphone, and went into her routine.

And that's where things got interesting.

Noah was the gangster that gripped the gun. The Beast of Din City. The Boss of the Streets. The one who ruled them all from the North to the South. Not liking to murder women, he'd now been thrown into an uncomfortable situation. She'd accidentally become a witness to something she shouldn't have seen.

She'd now become a problem.

Yet, their gazes met and hearts faltered, thump, thumping in their chest like a tune beat out from bullets slicing through the air and bodies crashing to the ground.

Their gazes met and things would never be the same for him or her, nor the Streets. Their gazes met and he decided not to kill her, instead he took her on a journey where sex meets the rhythm of the streets, high to low, smooth to rough, growing inside of them both until they're not sure, if any of them will survive—him, her, or those bloody streets.

Author Bio:
Kenya Wright wrote her first novel during her third year at UM Law school. She dropped out a month after the release and never looked back.

Words are power, and Kenya wants to be the greatest wizard that ever lived.
It's an audacity to inspire and teach the healing of love through arousal.
It's this crazy idea that love can not only help a reader escape, but the story can also teach the person
about being human,  while making them laugh, cry, and hot for more sex.

I received an advanced readers copy of Power in exchange for my honest review.
This book is a Mafia style romance with a strong black women as our leading lady. She stumbles into a club thinking she's going to be performing her comedy act, but she stepped right into the middle of the Beast of Din City deciding which of his two best friends to kill! Noah is a man of few words. He has grown up on the streets and moved his way up the crime ladder to become the boss. He lives by a few rules. And when Mary Jane walks in he is shaken up! MJ has this way about her to convincing the big bad gangsters to like her and even want to protect her. He ends up kidnapping her, and just not letting her go. This book is more violent then the ones I usually read, and that was a hard for me personally to continue moving past, but thankfully the characters and their own personal meltdowns/transformations took up a majority of the read. There were even parts of the unknown added into the story that leads a very sci-fi feel to parts of the story. This is a long book, and I do truly adore books that are longer!
4 stars!
