I stumbled upon Anne Jolin on Instagram several months ago, and decided to give one of her books a try when it came up for review. It only took that one book to become a fan for life. Rein In is book three of the Willow Bay Stables Series. In this book we meet the third child in the series, Aurora. She is a horse lover like he big brother and sister. She grew up on a farm in Canada, and now has a chance to work on a different horse farm three hours away. She jumps at the chance. Aurora is a bleeding heart, everyone says she wears her heart on her sleeve and she gives it away to easily. She has a boyfriend who she's been dating for a year, who is so completely different then she is. When she starts working at her new job, she gets to be in charge of the volunteers and the four criminals who are working off their last year at the farm, verses in jail. She gets to meet Crow, or Rhys. He is a character like she's never meet before. While Aurora wants to get to know everyone she reads their files. Rhys strikes her as odd. The thing I love about Aurora is when you read about a 17 yr old boy (who beats another man almost to death and ends up being tried and sentenced as an adult), she questions why he did it, and isn't shocked that he did. If you meet a man who has been convicted of aggravated assault and attempted murder, wouldn't you be nervous around them? Not Aurora, she wants to know his story, why did he do what he did? She believed everyone deserves a second chance. Rhys is a quiet young man who missed out on so much while he was in jail. But he has no regrets about what he did to earn jail. These two are such an unlikely pair, but they work! I loved this story, its sweet, and beautiful, while being dark and dangerous at the same time. 4.5 Stars!
